If Mahatma Gandhi is the father of independent India, then Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is considered the creator of modern India. Even after taking birth in a royal family and living in all kinds of pleasure-filled environment, he gave up his everything to protect national freedom and peace. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was born on November 14, 1889 AD at Anand Bhawan, Allahabad. His father Pt Moti Lal Nehru was a prominent lawyer of his era. His mother’s name was Mrs. Swaroop Rani Nehru.
He had his initial education at home. He then went to England to pursue higher education. From there he returned as a barrister in 1912 and started practicing in Prayag with his father. In 1915, Nehru participated in the Bombay Congress against the Rowlatt Act. It was from here that Nehru’s political life began.

Nehru ji had the auspicious result in 1916 AD with Mrs. Kamala. In 1917, on 19 November, a daughter named Indira Priyadarshini was born to her house. After a few days, Nehru became a member of the Congress and then took up the task of serving the country under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. Pt. Nehru ji had to go to jail for participating in the 1919 Kisan Movement and the Non-Cooperation Movement of 1921. His father Shri Motilal Nehru died in 1931 and his religious wife Kamala Nehru died in 1936 AD.
India became independent on August 15, 1947. Then he unanimously became the first Prime Minister of India and remained in the same position till the end of his life. Nehru did great work to advance India economically, socially and politically. He did many things like removing caste differences, promoting women and promoting education. He showed the path of peace to the world standing on the brink of war. Nehru’s principles of ‘Panchsheel’ helped in the establishment of world peace.

Pt. Nehru was not only a great national leader, he was also a great thinker, thinker and writer.
